A few days ago I was standing outside a home that I have listed for sale, with a showing broker. She and I were talking about real estate in her area nearer to Asheville, and mine… more removed from the city. I boasted how great it is to live, and work in the mountains…further away from the city.
During our conversation she made the comment… “get off the merry-go-round“. I told her… I like that, and I might just borrow it. So, it brings me to this blog.
If you’re tired of the hustle and bustle where you live, and probably work… “get off the merry-go-round“. What does it do… it just keeps going round and round, and round. Maybe it’s time for a change of pace to change up the monotony. Enjoy a slower pace, surround yourself with scenery and not concrete buildings.
We’ve heard the saying “stop and smell the roses” . When was the last time that you did that, ever? Realistically, most of us just don’t literally do that, although maybe we have isolated moments of gratitude. The lifestyle many people are acustomed to, just doesn’t allow it. It’s always… rush, rush, rush. It’s quite possible if you lived in the mountains you might just take time to “stop and smell the roses” because… how can you not? Surrounded with lush wooded forests, babbling streams, long range mountain vistas… I’d be surprised if you didn’t take notice and appreciate it all from time to time. Not to mention the lack of traffic you won’t feel so hurried all the time which allows you to appreciate it all. What’s that sound…. it’s the sound of silence! Maybe you’re not familiar with it, but don’t worry… most people can get used to it!
If your ready to conisder a move to the mountains of western North Carolina, I am always enthused to meet people and show them the slower side of life… only in the mountains! Look at my listings, and contact me if you want more information about any of them. But, if nothing appeals to you, I can search in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) to try to find what you’re looking for. I forward listings by e-mail for you to review, and ultimately hope to have the opportunity to meet with you, and show you homes and land.
